Bees win 9/10 Intramural Championship

Congratulations to the Burlington Bees for winning the 9/10 intramural championship!  The Bees and Coach Anibal Castro ended the regular season with a 10-1 record.  They entered the playoffs seeded number one but they knew that each team was playing their best baseball.  After winning their first two playoff games, the Bees faced a relentless Lugnuts team, coached by Steve Molzon, in the championship game.  This was no ordinary game as there were four lead changes throughout the game.  However, this thriller came down to the wire, ending in exciting fashion, with a double play with runners in scoring position to solidify a hard fought journey between two well deserving teams.  The Bees were now champions with a 12-11 victory.

Team Members:
Sean Fitzpatrick, Nicholas Repousis, Tyler Mroz, Tyler Wilson, Daniel Revelli, Danny Wilson, Silas Maiberger, Ian Piotrowski, Kenny Smith, Michael Klancic and Savien Castro.

The Washington Twp 10u Blue finished off a great weekend of baseball by winning the 2016 Cornfield Classic Tournament in Woodstown.  The Minutemen defeated Egg Harbor Twp 9-6 in the championship game to capture the title.  After going 1-1 in pool play, they were seeded 4th.  They had to defeat the #5 seed Tri State Arsenal (12-2), then the #1 seed Woodstown Heat (11-1) and finally the #2 seed Egg Harbor Twp all in one day.  The Minutemen used the long ball throughout the weekend as Jared Dzierzgowski hit two homers and Chris Racobaldo had one.  After losing in the semi-finals in both the MSI and Ripken Tournaments getting this tournament win was rewarding.  Congratulations to all of the players and coaches

The 9u Minutemen Blue dominated from start to finish to grab the championship of the WT Memorial Day Tournament. After defeating the SJ Braves and Delaware Bandits by a combined score of 31-9, the Minutemen squared off again with the Bandits in the semifinals, coming from behind to win 9-7. This set up a title game matchup with the Hammonton Stars, who, like the Minutemen, had posted a 3-0 record heading into Monday’s final. Washington Twp exploded for 8 runs in the second inning and 7 in the fifth frame to cruise to a 15-3 victory. Well done boys!
